Synchronize device date and time

Use the Date and Time Widget to set the date and time, time zone, and time synchronization for the device. Use the widget to specify LAN or WAN as the Local Network Time Protocol interface.

  1. On the device, open the screen with the Date and Time Widget.
If you created your project using the OptixPanel template on the start page, select Settings and then select Date & Time.
  2. In Synchronization mode, select how synchronization works on the device. Select either:
    • Auto (Remote NTP server). Synchronization is performed automatically through the remote NTP server.
    • Manual
The IP address of the device is read-only.
  3. In Time zone, select the time zone of the device.
  4. In Date and time, select either:
    • Auto (Remote NTP server). Have the remote NTP server set the current date and time.
    • Manual. Set the date and time using the virtual keypad.
If Auto (Remote NTP Server) is selected as the synchronization mode, you cannot change the date and time manually in Date and time.
  5. In Local NTP server interfaces, select the Network Time Protocol to have the device act like an NTP server and broadcast the time. Other devices can then synchronize with the date and time of the connected device. Select either:
    1. LAN. Select for a compact device that has only one port or a standard device that has two ports.
    2. WAN. Select for a standard device that has two ports.
If the connected device is a standard device that has two ports, you can select either LAN or WAN as the Local NTP server interface.
Changes to either Time zone and Local NTP server interfaces require you to reboot the device.
  6. Select Reboot. Device disconnected appears.
You must reconnect the device through the FTRA widget. See Connect to remote access.
