Add a widget to a project

You can add preconfigured widgets to a project. Use widgets to configure the FactoryTalk Optix Application at runtime, configure the device on which the application is running, and show information about the device.

Note: An OptixPanel™ project contains Date & Time, Device,Network, and FT Remote Access widgets in the Project view by default.
  1. From the main toolbar, select Libraries.
  2. In Libraries, select Widgets.
  3. Select the widget to add to the project.
  4. UnderComponents, complete the instructions to add the widget to the project.
  5. When the widget is added, in Libraries, select Close.

The widget appears in Project view.

Tip: If you add a widget that contains a node with the same name as the node that already exists in the project, the dynamic links are remapped to the node that exists in the project.
