Duplicate a project

Duplicate a project to use an existing project as a template for a new project.

  1. Open the project to be copied and then from the main menu, select Save as.
  2. In Save project as, complete:
    1. Name. The name of the new project.
    2. Location. The storage location of the project files. The duplicated project is stored in the same location as the original project by default. Select the folder icon to browse to a new location.
    3. (optional) Use Version Control. Select to save your project in a Git repository.
      Tip: In order to use version control, FactoryTalk Optix project names and repository names must match. The project and repository names must contain only alpha numeric characters, numerals, periods, dashes, and underscores.
  3. Select OK.
