Add a data logger

Configure a data logger to log variable values in a database.
  1. From the toolbar, select Open dashboard page.
  2. In the central pane, select Configure a data logger.
  3. Select New data loggers.
  4. (optional) In Name, enter the name for the data logger.
  5. In Sampling mode, select either:
    • None. Sample variables by invoking the Log method.
    • Periodic to sample all monitored variables and in Sampling period, set the interval in hours, with millisecond precision, between one sampling and the next.
    • Change in value to sample all monitored variables with values that changed from the previous sampling and in Polling time, set the interval in hours, with millisecond precision, between one sampling and the next.
  6. Select Next.

    The message The Data logger name successfully created appears.

  7. Select Next.
  8. If there is no database for the logger, create a database:
    Tip: You can also right-click an existing database and select Duplicate. Duplicating a database is useful if you want to create a database based on an existing database.
    1. Select New database and complete:
      • Name. A name for the database.
      • Type. Either Embedded or ODBC connection.
    2. Select Next.
    3. Set the database properties.
    4. Select Next.
  9. Select the database to store the logger data and select Next.
  10. Select the variables that you want to log and select Next.
    Tip: You can find variables by using the search field.
  11. Select Exit.
