Supported video formats

FactoryTalk® Optix supported video format depends on your operating system.

On Windows®, the following video formats are supported:

  • DV Video
  • H.264
  • H.263 (H.264 baseline profile compatible to MPEG-4 Pt2 short video header mode)
  • MJPEG
  • MPEG-4 Part 2
  • MPEG-4 v1/v2/v3
  • Windows Media Video (WMV)

On Ubuntu,  the following formats are available by default, without third-party plugins:

  • ASF
  • AVI
  • 3GP/MP4/MOV
  • FLV
  • MPEG-PS/TS
  • MKV/WEBM
  • MXF
  • OGG
Tip:

On Ubuntu, FactoryTalk Optix uses GStreamers capabilities, which can be extended through third-party plugins, to support additional video formats.

Manual configuration may be required to enable or install such components on the target machine.

On Optix Panels the same video formats are supported, but additional plugins cannot be installed.
