FactoryTalk Optix Studio

FactoryTalk Optix Studio is an integrated development environment with a framework of functional modules for designing and compiling HMI or Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

FactoryTalk Optix Studio includes a library of predefined objects that support the modular design of graphical interfaces, features, and logic operations of an HMI application. By using specific C# language scripts, you can automate various actions in the design phase and add customized functions to projects.

Desktop and web editors

FactoryTalk Optix Studio is available as a web and a desktop development environment that you use to build FactoryTalk Optix Applications  and deploy them to client systems. You access FactoryTalk Optix Studio web editor through FactoryTalk Hub.

If there is an Internet connection outage:
  • FactoryTalk Optix Studio web editor tries to reconnect to the Internet every 5 seconds. During that period, you cannot interact with FactoryTalk Optix Studio web editor. Once FactoryTalk Optix Studio web editor reconnects to the Internet, you can continue where you left off.
  • FactoryTalk Optix Application displays the message "Server unreachable" after 10 seconds. When the FactoryTalk Optix Application reconnects to the Internet, the application attempts to restore the user session and the interface displays.
