Configure module log levels

By default, the FactoryTalk Optix Studio Output pane shows all warnings, information, and error messages for all modules. Advanced mode allows you to display verbose messages.

Specify the maximum level of log information to appear on the Output pane for specific modules or all modules. Logs are saved in the System log regardless of the maximum level of information display in FactoryTalk Optix Studio. Storing unnecessary data may reduce performance.
  1. In the FactoryTalk Optix Studio title bar, select FactoryTalk Optix Studio Options.
  2. In FactoryTalk Optix Studio Options, select Advanced mode and select Save.
  3. Restart FactoryTalk Optix Studio for the Advanced mode to take effect.
  4. In the FactoryTalk Optix Studio title bar, select the drop-down arrow after FactoryTalk Optix Studio Options and select Module log levels configuration.
  5. In Module log level configuration, in Default level, select the default information level to appear in the Output pane:
    • Error. Error messages.

    • Warning. Warning messages.

    • Info. Information messages.

    • Verbose 1. First level verbose message for troubleshooting.

    • Verbose 2. Second level verbose message for troubleshooting.

  6. After each module, select the information level to display messages if the level is not the same as the specified Default level.
  7. Select Close.
